How to use the YouTube Link Tool

Paste a YouTube link, review what the page finds, choose only content you are allowed to save, and download the finished file before it expires.

Start with a YouTube link

Copy the YouTube video or playlist link you want to check, paste it into the box on the main page, and select Check link.

Review what was found

If the link points to one video, you will see options for that video. If it points to a playlist, you will see the playlist title and a list of videos so you can choose the ones you want.

Choose the right format

For videos, choose MP4 when you need a video file or MP3 when you only need the audio. Where available, you can also choose a preferred quality and audio language.

Select playlist videos carefully

For playlists, you can select individual videos or choose all listed videos. Only continue with videos you own, have permission to save, or are otherwise legally allowed to download.

Wait for your turn

Downloads are handled in order. Your status page shows whether your file is waiting, downloading, ready, failed, or expired. Keep the status page open, or use the recent downloads box on the homepage to return to it from the same browser.

Save files before they expire

When a file is ready, use the download button on the status page. Completed files are temporary and are removed after the expiry time shown on the page. If a file has expired, the status page may offer a Download again button.

If a link cannot be used

Some links may be private, restricted, unavailable, unsupported, or typed incorrectly. When that happens, the page shows a plain-language message so you can check the link or try a different one.
